Lucas was responsible for the potential trade agreements established with other small groups living in the Wilds. He was the only one who knew where those groups were located. Trapped, he found himself on yet another expedition back where all the horrors and traumatic losses of his life occurred.

The negotiations have enough drama but when he finds he must deal with competition from another city and that the lead negotiator is his ex-Brynn, the trip goes from bad to worse. With a conflict brewing between the two competing cities, Lucas must make a decision that tears his heart apart. Only one of them can survive. Will he choose Brynn or his family, or will the wilds claim them both?
