The Historian: Once More Into the Wilds
The Historian Series 2
Book:
1
The first time into the Wilds, Lucas was forced to go. The trip almost killed him. It did take the life of the woman he loved, leaving him lost for more than a year. A second trip back into the nightmare may be the only thing that can save him.
Lucas Sanderson is a Historian. He records the history of the city now twenty-one years after the nuclear event that destroyed life as they knew it. When a new expedition is announced Lucas is the first to volunteer. The mission is to locate and negotiate trade agreements with, but all Lucas cares about is losing his demons or dying in the attempt.
Once again, they encounter wild creatures, primitive people, and deformed animals but when they come to a major city instead of negotiating, the team is attacked and pursued. With the team’s leadership taken prisoner, the team gets separated and most run for their lives. It falls to Lucas to find and bring the team’s elements back together then lead a rescue but even if he arrived on time facing a city of thousands with his small force left little chance of success.
