Magnea dreamed of becoming an officer. She dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot. She dreamed of flying combat missions. She had one dream left, to become an astronaut and fly a mission into space. What she didn’t dream of was the meteor speeding toward Earth that would end hers and everyone else’s dreams.

Magnea always wanted to pilot a craft into space. She had a stellar career as a fighter jet pilot but as her career was winding down it was time to focus on making that last goal a reality.

Turned down on several attempts and missing the cut on another, Magnea knew her time was running out with the Air Force, NASA, and her husband. Given an ultimatum to cease her efforts and retire or else, she gives in and accepts defeat. Her dream will never be realized.

However, when the potentially planet killing meteor is discovered and a desperate plan is hatched to save as much of humankind as possible, the call goes out for all willing candidates to become astronauts. Magnea doesn’t hesitate. With the meteor closing in and her marriage falling apart, she realizes that if she doesn’t make it this time she and her entire family will be left on Earth when the impact occurs.
