Can humanity resurrect twenty-five years after the devastation of a planet killing meteor strike?

For twenty-five years DeVante Adams has been in a stasis chamber with two thousand others placed deep in a cave waiting for the day when they might be revived and begin the process of rebuilding the human race. Revived to spend a year overseeing the facility, DeVante discovers that the frozen land outside has begun to warm leading to excited speculation of a return to the surface. However, something has inhabited the cave above where they reside.

The site has lost all contact with the other resurrection sites. Most of their external sensors and cameras were destroyed over time so offer little information about what they may face should they venture out into the cold. However, no exploration can be accomplished without first clearing out the unknown species of creatures inhabiting the cave.

With the possibility of going outside for the first time since the meteor strike, a small force is wakened but what will they discover? Is the world ready to be occupied again or are there other obstacles besides the freezing weather and strange creatures to prevent humanity’s return?
