Ferris was just sixteen. He should have been in school and playing video games or sports. Caydi was also sixteen. She should have been hanging out with her friends at school, playing field hockey, and preparing for early entry into college. Neither had counted on an EMP. Instead, both were fighting for their lives.

It had been a week since they buried Gramps and fled the city for somewhere safer. Now it was time to return, so Ferris could visit Laurent and Caydi could check to see if her parents were home yet—but so far nothing had been easy during this apocalypse!
